Nonprofit producing The Power of Entrepreneurs
A nonprofit that connects young minority professionals is producing a panel on entrepreneurship downtown next week.
Business Leaders Linked to Encourage New Directions, or BL2END, is organizing The Power of Entrepreneurs: Inside and Outside the Workplace.
The professional development event will be on Nov. 8 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Start Garden in Grand Rapids, at 40 Pearl St. NW.
BL2END said the event is “interactive” and will kick off with hors d'oeuvres from IRIE Kitchen, drinks and networking.
A panel discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m., moderated by Shannon Cohen — the founder and principal of Shannon Cohen Inc. and the principal of Sisters Who Lead.
The panel will feature several people: Angela Nelson, 616 Grand Productions; Jermale Eddie, Malamiah Juice Bar; Rhoda Klomega, Delasie; and MarQus Wright, Daddy's Dough.
Those interested in attending the free event are asked to register online.
Questions may be directed to Cordell Zachery, BL2END professional development chair, at professional at grblend dot org.
Founded in 2006, BL2END aims to increase the engagement and retention of young professionals of color in greater Grand Rapids.
The nonprofit hosts monthly events that focus on networking, professional development and community outreach.
