Medical practice management company hires CFO

A medical practice management company has named its new chief financial officer.

Grand Rapids-based Great Lakes Management Services Organization, or Great Lakes MSO, said last week it hired John Hart for the role.

Hart, a CPA< has more than 20 years of experience in financial and operational accounting, reporting and analysis.

He most recently served as SVP, CFO and treasurer of National Surgical Healthcare in Chicago.

Previously, he was CFO and chief compliance officer at Vein Clinics of America in Downers Grove, Illinois and SVP of finance and corporate controller for Surgery Partners in Chicago.

He graduated from Loyola University in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

“One of John’s main strengths is that he’s a strategist,” said Dan Hosler, chief development officer, Great Lakes MSO. “I’m excited to have someone of his caliber influencing the future direction of our company. John will be vital in providing financial leadership and aligning business and finance strategy to help grow Great Lakes MSO.”

Great Lakes Management Services Organization

Great Lakes MSO is the practice management organization that manages Grand Rapids Ophthalmology and its related retail optical and surgical facility businesses, including Lakeshore Eye in Gaslight Village and Walker Surgical Center in Walker.

The organization plans to expand further into Michigan and the Midwest and is in discussion with additional area eye care providers.
