A local maker of consumer oral care products has expanded its headquarters.

Grand Rapids-based Ranir said today it completed the addition of 5,000 square feet of office space to the second floor of its facility at 4701 E. Paris Ave. SE.

The build out began in January as an initiative to improve flexibility and teamwork within Ranir.

The company transitioned a factory-floor mezzanine into a new workspace for more than 20 employees to meet the its current and future growth needs.

The workspace is dedicated to the company’s research and development, marketing and design teams.

The space features an open concept with shared meeting rooms, enclaves and a work lounge for staff.

As a result of the expansion, the company plans to add more than a dozen jobs to serve both its private label and branded businesses in the U.S. and abroad.

“This new space is a live laboratory for innovation and creativity, specifically tailored to fit our evolving culture and business growth,” said Rich Sorota, president and CEO, Ranir.

“Since purchasing our corporate headquarters building last year, we have embarked on a multi-year path to make changes and improvements to both our manufacturing processes and the corporate office space to provide our employees with an engaging and inspiring work environment that allows us to attract and nurture top talent and bring the best products to the market.”
