An African American-focused economic development organization will honor a group of businesses and individuals at an upcoming event.

Grand Rapids Area Black Businesses, or GRAAB, will host its fifth-annual GRAAB Black Market & Awards Reception from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday at the ArtPrize Hub in Grand Rapids, at 41 Sheldon Blvd. SE.

During the event — which will feature food, networking and shopping for wares by local black-owned vendors — GRAAB will honor businesses, individuals and community groups contributing to “the forward progress” of Grand Rapids and GRAAB — and who are working to “make a difference” in the community.

Tickets, $40-$75, can be purchased online.
