A downtown church is hosting a holiday concert fundraiser for a local filmmaker.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the production of “Black Girls Be Like,” the first feature film by Racheal Floyd, a Grand Rapids native.

The concert will be from 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 12 at Fountain Street Church, at 24 Fountain St. NE.

The concert will be hosted by Magic 104.9’s Toresa Blakely and feature performances by Kyd Kane, Bri Ross, Bedrock the Foundation, Dayz, Jeri Wade, the Fountain Street Church adult choir and more.

The fundraiser will also be broadcast live on GRTV and Facebook.

Local vendors will sell holiday gifts, as well as food and drinks, including a bake sale featuring items from Cakabakery.

Tickets are $10, which can be purchased online or at the door.

Floyd said the film "Black Girls Be Like" aims to tell the story of a young woman on screen and also empower female film professionals behind the camera and beyond.
