A new women’s clothing shop featuring handmade products has opened in town.

Ada Mae opened its doors this month at Fulton Square, a mixed-use building in Grand Rapids, at 1 Carlton Ave. SE.

The shop occupies 991 square feet of retail space.

Ada Mae says it supports designers from the U.S. and Europe, “with an emphasis on small independent lines,” according to its website.

Owner and operator Jessica Smith said Fulton Square is the “perfect fit” for the boutique, noting that the building's location and on-site parking make her shop convenient for her customers.

“The reception has been great, and I am so excited to get to know the neighborhood,” Smith said. “Many of our brands are exclusive to Grand Rapids, so you’re bound to find something you can only get by shopping here.”

Fulton Square features 47 apartments and four ground-floor retail spaces.

The property is owned by Orion Real Estate Solutions, a division of Grand Rapids-based Orion Construction. Colliers International West Michigan is the property manager and leasing agent.

All apartment units are leased, and three of the four retail spaces are leased.
