A restaurant that will serve Japanese food, including ramen noodles, will open this weekend.

Sapporo Ramen & Noodle Bar will open its Grand Rapids location, at 5570 28th St. SE, at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The restaurant was founded on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing. Grand Rapids is its second location.

It is co-owned by Kevin Lim, Kevin Choi and Patrick Rubley, and Rubley is also the chef.

The restaurant’s cuisine is inspired by the flavors of the Sapporo region of Japan.

The menu features fresh ramen noodles and sauces, broths and recipes made in-house, including gluten-free and vegan ingredients.

The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner and also offer takeout.

Its hours will be from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
