A country club owner is adding a new golf course to its portfolio.

Watermark Properties said today it is acquiring Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck, at 3520 Palmer Dr. The acquisition will be effective March 1.

“Watermark Properties’ desire is to continue to grow and support the golf industry in West Michigan,” said Craig Smith, COO, Watermark Properties. “We strive to add clubs to our collection, adding value to our members, providing them more experiences to enjoy the comradery and enjoyment of golf.”

Ravines is an Arnold Palmer signature public golf course featuring 18 holes.

It will be the latest acquisition in the Watermark Properties group, joining Thornapple Pointe as the second public facility in Watermark’s portfolio.

Watermark also owns four private clubs, including Watermark Country Club, StoneWater Country Club, Sunnybrook Country Club and Thousand Oaks Country Club.

Ravines Golf Club will remain a public course and banquet facility under the new ownership.

The club’s current general manager and head PGA professional, Rob Charter, will continue to oversee all operations after the transition.

“Watermark Properties has an outstanding reputation, and we are extremely excited to be a part of the group,” Charter said.

Watermark Properties offers one country club membership with access to its four private golf courses.
