A construction firm and several related brands in the region are now operating under a new parent company.

Kalamazoo-based CSM Group announced this month the formation of the CSM Group of Companies, which will house the original CSM Group, Compliance One Group, Level 5 Safety, Food Safety Readiness and SPARK Business Works.

Each brand will continue to operate as an individual company with its own organizational structure and be based in Kalamazoo.

CSM Group of Companies recently formalized its relationship with these brands and has named business leaders for each brand.

The parent company will consist of 21 individuals who provide support in information technology, accounting and finance, human resources management, marketing, leadership guidance and general business administration.

The are 120 employees across the entire CSM family.

The CSM Group of Companies is led by Chairman and CEO Steve East, the parent’s owner.

East said the goal of the new parent company is to provide a support network for the five businesses, while implementing their specific initiatives.

“With this format, we can stimulate and support both independence and interdependence in all business units for synergistic results,” East said.
