Nonprofit hosting Wellness Symposium

A new wellness symposium for human resources and organizational health professionals will be held in the area next week.

The American Heart Association is hosting its first West Michigan Wellness Symposium on March 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kent District Library Service Center in Comstock Park, at 814 West River Dr. NE.

The symposium is directed at HR and worksite wellness directors to explore how companies can foster and encourage healthy behaviors among their employees.

The event will feature information from a number of health experts on various subjects.

Presenters will be from a range of organizations: Terryberry; Health Plan Advocate; Spectrum Health; YMCA; American Institute for Preventive Medicine; Pine Rest; and the American Heart Association.
