A West Michigan distillery is launching its first canned cocktail.

Holland-based Coppercraft Distillery said last week it will release its Gin & Tonic in cans beginning this month.

The beverage is hand mixed with Coppercraft’s award-winning gin.

“Quality craft cocktails are incredibly difficult to make in a portable manner, and this is important as we consider today’s active consumer,” said Brandon Joldersma, general manager, Coppercraft Distillery. “Our fans want to experience our award-winning spirits in new and more convenient ways.”

The Gin & Tonic, at 10-percent ABV, will be packaged in a four-pack of 12-ounce cans.

The cocktails will be available at independently owned stores in Grand Rapids and on the lakeshore.

Coppercraft Gin is comprised of 13 botanicals, with hints of juniper and balanced with coriander, orange, cinnamon and lemon.

The distillery will follow the launch of its Gin & Tonic cans with additional varieties of canned cocktails later in 2018.
