A riverfront restaurant opening downtown will host a job fair next week to fill 25 positions.

Linear Restaurant — opening this spring at The Homes at River’s Edge development at 1001 Monroe Ave. NW — will host a job fair at the restaurant from noon to 6 p.m. on March 19 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 20.

The 3,500-square-foot restaurant occupies the entire ground floor of The Homes at River’s Edge.

Chris Weimer, Linear executive chef and co-owner, and Todd Hoort, co-owner, are looking to hire full- and part-time employees to work as line cooks, chefs, servers, bartenders and more.

“We are committed to providing our guests with the most comfortable atmosphere and best dining experience possible and that starts with our staff and the culture we create at Linear through the hiring process,” Weimer said.

Applicants should plan to bring resumes, dress in business casual attire and be ready to fill out applications and sit for interviews at the job fair.

The restaurant will specialize in “modern American cuisine” and offer “a riverfront dining experience” via an outdoor patio.

The menu will showcase seasonal and local foods.

The restaurant will also offer room service to the 32 luxury apartments on the upper four floors of the development.

Weimer and Hoort plan to announce a grand-opening ceremony, pending completion of construction.

The five-story, $10.5-million Homes at River’s Edge development is owned by Grand Rapids-based Orion Real Estate Solutions and was built by Orion Construction.

The development is bordered by Canal Park on the north and south sides and features apartments, secure covered parking and the ground-floor restaurant.
