A pair of health organizations have partnered to open a new integrated care campus in the region.

Health Pointe, a partnership between Spectrum Health and Holland Hospital, opened its doors to patients earlier this month in Grand Haven, at 15100 Whittaker Way.

Health Pointe offers primary and specialty physician care, urgent care, laboratory and radiology — including CT and MRI — outpatient procedures and surgery all under one roof.

The facility also offers single patient check-in, shared medical records and coordination of primary and specialty care.

“Our teams came together to create this new home for health that will meet the needs of Grand Haven for years to come,” said Tina Freese Decker, EVP and COO, Spectrum Health. “Our team of physicians and staff, who have been serving the Grand Haven community for 20 years, will now join Holland Hospital colleagues in helping to improve the health and wellness of residents along the lakeshore.”

The more than 100,000-square-foot building was designed by AECOM and constructed by Granger Construction.

Health Pointe has more than 250 team members, including physicians, advanced practice providers and other health care professionals. There are job openings available online.

The facility is led by Executive Director Joshua Troast.

“My family and I are residents of this community, and I cannot even begin to tell you how proud I am to be standing here,” Troast said. “As a husband and a father, I want my family to have the opportunity to receive high-quality care close to where we live, work and play.”

Health Pointe has been the focus of some controversy, particularly surrounding duplicated services in the area.

The North Ottawa Community Health System in Grand Haven has questioned its ability to survive after the new facility’s opening.

Health Pointe's Troast sent a letter to the Business Journal editor amid the controversy.

Concerns regarding the new facility were mentioned again at the recent 2018 GVSU Health Check meeting for lakeshore business leaders.
