A local color-management company has named a new president to lead the company and a subsidiary.

Grand Rapids-based X-Rite, which was acquired by Washington, D.C.-based Danaher Corporation in 2012, said today it appointed Ondrej Kruk, a former executive at Danaher business Alltec, to the role of president at X-Rite and its subsidiary Pantone.

Kruk, who is based in Grand Rapids, began his new role last month.

He was hired to lead the “continued expansion” of Pantone’s and X-Rite’s product and solutions portfolios, according to X-Rite.

“Ondrej is a proven Danaher leader with experience growing technology companies and working with global customers,” said Joakim Weidemanis, EVP, Danaher.

Kruk said he’s “excited” to carry forward the company’s “legacy of innovation.”

“Pantone's and X-Rite’s latest developments go beyond color, enabling customers to advance the creation, communication and delivery of color and appearance as they transition to digital processes and use more complex materials,” Kruk said.

Background

For the past three years, Kruk was general manager of Alltec, a Danaher business offering laser-marking and engraving technology under the Alltec and FOBA brands.

Kruk has also held numerous management roles at Videojet, a coding, marking and variable data printing solutions company.

He earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and graduated from the University of Economics in Prague with a master’s degree in economics.

Kruk has lived, studied and worked in several European countries, Latin America and the U.S.

He is fluent in Czech, English, German and Spanish.
