A new $4-million apartment development has been proposed in the area.

Cascade East is a new multi-family project that would be located in Cascade Township, at 2771 Orange Ave. SE.

The project is headed by Grand Rapids-based a.j. Veneklasen.

Cascade East is expected to be finished by the end of this summer.

“This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to relocate to a vibrant neighborhood within the Forest Hills school district,” said Chris Veneklasen, VP, a.j. Veneklasen.

The design features three two-story buildings with a total of 18 apartments. The complex would include one, two and three-bedroom units.

Proposed amenities include stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, in-unit laundry and attached garages for each unit. The development would also feature on-site parking.

The development’s owner will be announced at a later date.

Grand Rapids-based Integrated Architecture is project’s architect.

Financing is through Holland-based Macatawa Bank.
