Grand Rapids is considered one of the “best places to live” in America.

U.S. News & World Report ranks Grand Rapids No. 12 in its ranking of the "Best Places to Live in the USA,” which was published yesterday.

Grand Rapids is the lone West Michigan community in the ranking.

The 125-community ranking is based on a place’s “value, desirability, job-market strength and quality of life.”

Grand Rapids earned an overall score of 7.1 out of 10, with its public art scene, craft breweries, healthy job market and affordable housing all being cited as reasons for its ranking.
