A Grand Rapids distillery is gearing up to distribute across Michigan.

Long Road Distillers announced yesterday its partnership with Kalamazoo-based Imperial Beverage.

Statewide distribution for Long Road’s products will go live on April 29.

“We hope that this partnership allows our products to get into the hands of many more consumers in bars and restaurants and retail establishments throughout the great state of Michigan,” said Jon O’Connor, co-founder, Long Road Distillers.

Joe Cekola, president of Imperial Beverage, said Long Road will be a “premier” distiller for his company’s portfolio and regarded it as “one of the best in the nation.”

“I met Jon about a year ago at a function in Kalamazoo and continued to build a relationship there and heard a lot of great things about what Long Road’s done,” Cekola said.

Imperial Beverage distributes for a number of Michigan distillers, including Bier Distillery in Grand Rapids, Green Door Distilling in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Stillhouse and Iron Fish Distillery in Thompsonville.

“They have a spectacular reputation, not only for the quality of their service, but for the level of their portfolio,” O’Connor said. “It was a very intriguing opportunity for us to want to be with somebody who’s got that kind of reputation.”

Long Road Distillers will also celebrate its three-year anniversary in May.
