A local web development firm has been acquired by a pair of buyers.

Grand Rapids-based WebTecs, a software development and e-commerce firm, which provides website services primarily to local county governments, has been sold, according to Rua Associates yesterday.

The two buyers, who wished to remain anonymous, bring experience from the software development and financial sectors.

The Zeeland-based mergers and acquisitions firm Rua Associates partnered with Left Coast Capital out of Muskegon to represent WebTecs in the transaction.

WebTecs has created more than 100 custom software applications to help its clients provide improved services online at a lower cost.

The company also provides web and graphic design, content management and help desk services.
