The Rapid hires deputy CEO
The Rapid has added a new member to its executive team.
Dina Reed will serve as The Rapid’s deputy CEO of finance and administration.
She will guide The Rapid’s annual $4.4-million budget and its capital program, as well as direct numerous departments: finance; purchasing; human resources; grants and capital projects; and IT.
Reed will also guide the strategic vision for the agency, directing analysis and planning and advising stakeholders.
“Her knowledge and experience in leadership and finance gives The Rapid a strong position for success both now and in the future,” said Peter Varga, CEO, The Rapid.
Previously, Reed has served as the director of financial analysis and business finance at Acro Service Corp. and VP of financial planning and analysis at the Wayne County Airport Authority.
She has also held finance positions at Northwest Airlines and Walt Disney World.
Reed holds an M.S. in management, strategy and leadership from Michigan State University and a B.B.A. in finance from Eastern Michigan University.
The Rapid, a public transit agency, provides bus service in East Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids, Grandville, Kentwood, Walker and Wyoming.
The organization provided over 12.5 million rides in 2014.
