"At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us." -Albert Schweitzer

Recently, I attended the Conscious Capitalism conference in Chicago and was grateful to hear a talk by John Mackey, founder of Whole Foods Market.

He shared one of the mindsets he strives to live in each and every day. He challenged the group to try it, and I did. What a shift.

He lives his life by a belief that every person he comes into contact with on a daily basis is smarter and more enlightened than he is, and — the best part — they are there to help him learn and grow.

If you find yourself jaded by people, or worse, you feel like the smartest person in the room, I challenge you to pretend for 21 days that every person you come into contact with is smarter and more enlightened than you.

You might just learn something.

Inward. Onward. Upward!
