Want to run and race with an energetic crowd of 21,000? There’s an app for that.

The organizers of the Fifth Third River Bank Run just announced their new smartphone app.

The free app offers users a number of features: online registration for all the Fifth Third River Bank Run events (25K, 10K, 5K, Community Walk and Junior events); a playlist with a new free song each week to inspire training efforts; an event calendar; a mile tracking program; participant wall for easy connecting with fellow runners; webcast access and up-to-date notifications.

With race day still seven months away, there’s plenty of time for pre-training run tracking, interacting with other registrants — and indulging in holiday food festivities without the guilt.
