Yeah, you might like HGTV’s hit show “Renovation Raiders” because you secretly want someone to surprise you with a granite counter-topped kitchen, but here’s even more reason to give it your love — it’s local!

Well … kinda.

The show was created by producer/actor Scott Erickson, the same guy who orchestrated the Grand Rapids LipDub video and is one of our 2012 “40 Under Forty” honorees, and his creative partner, Kevin Budzynski. After much success in its first season, the show has been picked up for a second go-round. Woo-hoo! Go Scott and Kevin!

In each episode, host (and licensed contractor to boot) Amy Matthews and crew remodel a room in the time it takes homeowners to go out for dinner and a movie. Each episode captures the construction process and (ta-da!) the surprising reveal. New episodes air on HGTV every Thursday at 9 p.m.
