Cats, meet ArtPrize. ArtPrize, meet cats.

It’s true ladies and gents. The Internet’s favorite four-legged felines are making a big ArtPrize debut this September.

Introducing, the Internet Cat Video Festival at ArtPrize.

Cats on the big screen

ArtPrize is hardly the first organized group to show public love to wacky cat videos.

The idea, in fact, came from Minneapolis and the Walker Art Center. Last summer, some brilliant mind in Minnesota created the first Internet Cat Video Festival — and more than 10,000 people watched the screening, gaining international attention. #duh #catsruledogsdrool

Walker Art Center’s Internet Cat Video Festival at ArtPrize will screen at Rosa Parks Circle on Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. (arrive at 7:30 for a good spot). Oh, also, it’s free.

Local LOLZ

But wait! There’s more!

ArtPrize hopes to feature local funny cat videos as part of the festival.

Send in YouTube or Vimeo videos of your funny kitties now through Aug. 8 to kevin at artprize dot org with the subject line CATS! Include your relationship to ArtPrize (artist, volunteer, member, voter, fan, attendee, etc.).

On Aug. 12, visit ArtPrize’s blog to watch and vote for the most hilarious cat clips. Winners will make it into the festival video.

Man, we thought ArtPrize was great before, but with the addition of cats, how do you like ‘em meow?
