One of the greatest golfers ever will be in town this September to help raise money for the new Learning Center at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.

Tickets for go on sale today for the event: A Conversation with Golf Legend Jack Nicklaus.

The event will be held on Sept. 12 at noon at JW Marriott’s International Ballroom.

President Ford became close with Nicklaus as the Commander in Chief took up golf.

The president once said, “I know I’m getting better at golf, because I am hitting fewer spectators.”

“Jack played many rounds of golf with Dad during his life, and he was a close family friend for many of those years,” Steve Ford said. “I am honored that Jack is willing to honor my dad’s legacy and participate in the conversation to raise funds for the Learning Center.”

The Golden Bear was an honorary pallbearer during President Ford’s 2006 funeral, and he’ll be in Grand Rapids for President Ford’s centennial birthday year.

Nicklaus ranks third behind Sam Snead and Tiger Woods with 73 PGA career victories.
