The LPGA is looking for about 600 volunteers in the area for a “priceless” experience.

The Meijer LPGA Classic presented by Kraft will be played at Blythefield Country Club on Aug. 4-10.

The tournament will host a full field of 144 players for 72 holes.

People interested in a volunteer role should visit the tournament’s website. And people interested in a leadership position for the week should contact Colleen Lienesch at colleen.lienesch at octagon dot com.

“We have been overwhelmed with the positive support we have received from the community already," said Lesley Baker, tournament director. "Now we need to rally that support for one of the most essential parts of the tournament: the volunteers.

"Volunteers are the heart and soul of the event, and you don't have to know or love golf to volunteer. The experience for our volunteers is priceless."

The tournament coincides with Meijer’s Simply Give program, which has generated $8 million for food pantries in the communities that it serves.
