Grand Rapids is being recognized once again as a great place to take a vacation.

Daily deal website Groupon ranks Grand Rapids No. 1 in its ranking of the “Top 15 Places to Visit in the United States for 2015,” which it posted earlier this year.

The ranking includes 15 destinations, representing all areas of the country.

Chicago-based Groupon says Grand Rapids’ “major renaissance” and “flourishing arts scene” are a couple of the reasons to visit the city.

It also notes the city’s crown as Beer City, U.S.A., citing USA Today’s recognition of Grand Rapids as “Best Beer Town.”

“Grand Rapids residents love to kick back with a brew,” Groupon says.

Helping the city take the top spot are its plethora of surrounding beach communities.

“Grand Rapids sits at the north end of the Gold Coast of Michigan, a string of beach towns along Lake Michigan in the southwestern part of the state,” Groupon says. “These towns — St. Joseph, Saugatuck and South Haven, to name a few — are the living embodiment of the uber-effective ‘Pure Michigan’ tourism campaign, with quaint main streets, golden sand dunes and clean swimming beaches.”
