Restaurant serves No. 1 sandwich to 'try before you die'

A Grand Rapids sandwich is standing at the top of a national ranking of the “10 Sandwiches You Should Try Before You Die.”

The ranking posted yesterday by a Huffington Post contributor names the Bird in Hand from Kitchen 67 the No. 1 sandwich.

The sandwich is a “fresh, tender beer-braised chicken, hand breaded using house-made Founder’s Red Rye beer batter, heavy mayo, crispy lettuce ribbons, served on a caramelized, buttery brioche bun, branded with a ‘67’ on the top,” according to the post.

“While most restaurants look to pair the perfect craft beer with a sandwich, Kitchen 67 chef Aaron Vince has created a craft take on a classic sandwich, using increasingly popular Founders beer for when you want to eat your calories,” the post says.

The other nine sandwiches hail from across the country, from a seared wagyu tri-tip steak-and-egg sandwich from Los Angeles’s Grand Central Market to the 1.5-pound lobster roll, U.S.S. Lobstitution, from Pauli’s in Boston.
