The West Michigan Tourist Association has launched its West Michigan Photo Contest for 2017.

Submissions will be accepted until July 31, after which photos will be voted on by WMTA’s Facebook audience.

Winning photos will be printed in WMTA’s "West Michigan Carefree Travel Guide," published in January 2018. The winning photo will be printed on the cover of the guide.

The top three photos will also be awarded prize items from Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Indigo Bluffs Resort RV Site in Empire, Lewis Farms in New Era, Electric Bike Place in Grand Haven and Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon.

Photos must be taken in West Michigan, defined by the WMTA as “the entire west side of Michigan from the Indiana border to Mackinac Island and into the Upper Peninsula.” The WMTA will accept high-res photos — 300 dpi or higher — in jpeg or tif format. CMYK colors are preferred.

Submissions can be sent to photocontest at WMTA dot org and must include the full name of the photographer, the city in which the photograph was taken and a brief description. Multiple entries are allowed, but only one photo per email.

More details on the contest are online.
