A brewery will be celebrating Oktoberfest on Saturday at its taproom downtown.

Atwater Brewery will host an Oktoberfest celebration in Grand Rapids, at 201 Michigan St. NW.

The 21-and-over event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

The event will feature German-style food and drink, live German music, a lederhosen and dirndl costume contest, shuffleboard and a traditional German “mug-holding” contest. Winners will receive gift cards and Atwater merchandise. The first 25 guests will receive a free mug club membership for a year.

The party will be held rain or shine and have tented outdoor areas.

There is no fee for attending, but guests will be asked to show identification.

Atwater Brewery

The Detroit-based brewery was founded in 1997 with a goal centered on making traditional, German-style lagers.

Atwater expanded to Grand Rapids in 2016 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a company.
