The Arena District is celebrating Irish heritage downtown on Tuesday night, days before St. Patrick’s Day.

The Arena District will host the Irish Culture Club from 6-8 p.m. at McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon.

The event is open to the public and costs $5, with 20 percent heading to a local charity.

Culture

The event will feature displays of Irish culture: traditional Irish dance, performed by Ardán Academy of Irish Dance; Irish storyteller John Ladegast will share classic tales from the Emerald Isle; and The Gaelic League of West Michigan will demonstrate how to make Brigid’s Crosses.

Food and drink

McFadden’s will serve up classic Irish fare, such as Shepard’s Pie, but it will also provide the pub’s modern twist on the classics.

Irish beers such as Guinness will also be on tap all night.

The district encourages people to RSVP for the event online at Facebook.
