Chamber produces Latino Career Fair
A local chamber will produce a career fair this week that promotes diversity.
The West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host its first Latino Career Fair at DeVos Place in Ballroom A, at 303 Monroe Ave. NW, on Thursday.
The career fair runs from 2-5 p.m., and a networking event will follow from 5-6:30 p.m.
The chamber says on the event's registration web page that it is “dedicated to working with all members of the community to increase the economic advancement of Hispanic-owned businesses and to assist the professional growth of Hispanic business leaders in West Michigan.”
The chamber adds registration is open to everyone.
“Diversity is important to all our participating employers, so they are looking for candidates from all different backgrounds and ethnicities,” the chamber says.
The West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was founded in 2003 by a group of Hispanic business leaders looking to support economic and cultural understanding and represent Hispanic business interests.
The Grand Rapids-based chamber offers networking opportunities, workshops, events, bilingual business counseling and free legal advice.
