Panelists will discuss the Opioid epidemic at the state and local level, detail the law enforcement perspective and identity area services that can offer resources. Panelists are Steve Alsum, executive director of the Grand Rapids Red Project; Tom Burns, special agent for the Drug Enforcement Agency; Mark Hall, medical director for Kent County Health Department; and Michelle Young, Kent County undersheriff. The moderator will be Michael Bouthillier, director of operations for Ferris State University-College of Pharmacy. The Health Forums are offered on the first Friday of each month during the academic year and are hosted by Grand Valley's Vice Provost for Health, and the Midwest Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research Center. The event is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. A light breakfast will be offered at 7:30 and presentations begin at 8 a.m. The event concluding at 9:30 a.m.
