oday, more than ever, it’s critical that each person in search of work knows and owns her unique talents, enthusiasms, values and knowledge. Being able to powerfully express who they are and what they have to offer an employer is a person’s best chance of securing the work they seek. Being unemployed (or under employed or unhappily employed), especially experiencing prolonged unemployment saps a person’s strength, energy and hope. Knowing what makes a person stand out enhances her chance of finding that new employment. Our presenter is Mike Slaughter, Client Relations and Marketing expert with Paul Goebel Group here in Grand Rapids, and previously served as a member of the EaRN | Employment and Resource Network Board. His presentation will center around the discovery and understanding of innate talents, interests and personality traits. Taking appropriate assessments can be very helpful in getting a better glimpse of one’s own pattern and the kind of work that effectively evokes your best efforts and work performance. Mike will offer a couple of assessments to help you “tell your story”!
