2013 Walk to End Alzheimer's Kick-Off Event
7/11/13 4:30 pm EST
600 Monroe Ave. NW
Grand Rapids, MI
Alzheimer’s Disease is the only top ten cause of death in the United States that cannot be cured, prevented, or even slowed. The Alzheimer’s Association’s mission is to change that; we are the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The 2012 Grand Rapids Walk to End Alzheimer’s was a large success with fundraising totaling more than $190,000! Funds raised from Walk to End Alzheimer’s directly helps finance vital West Michigan programs and support our 24/7 helpline, as well as research to end this devastating disease. Until we achieve our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s, more work needs to be done. The time is now. Please join us. Our 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Kick-Off Event will have a short program at 6:00 p.m. to introduce our new Send your $10 challenge. Other new activities for the kick-off event include participating in our video Promise Garden and poster contest! The evening will also include: raffle prizes, complimentary appetizers, fundraising supplies, and people working together for reaching our $200,000 goal. Free parking after 5 in the city lot across the street! Call Shawn Ruetz, Regional Development Manager, to RSVP: 616.301.3230.
