The Alzheimer's Association presents the latest and greatest you need to know about Alzheimer's disease! Join us to learn the science of Alzheimer's and the latest developments in Alzheimer's research from Grand Rapids' own Scott Counts, Ph.D. Dr. Scott Counts, was recruited from Rush University in 2013 to be an Associate Professor of Translational Science and Molecular Medicine (primary) and Family Medicine (secondary) at Michigan State University - College of Human Medicine. The goal of Dr. Counts’ research is to understand the molecular pathways in the brain that appear to contribute to Alzheimer’s disease and explore the “selective vulnerability” of brain cells—why some associated with cognition die, while others survive.
