GR Business Journal Wins National Award
Grand Rapids Business Journal’s news portal, www.grbjexpress.com, last week won national honors in the annual Association of Area Business Publications (AABP) competition among business journals across the country. The Web site was given the national Silver Award from judges coordinated by the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
After selecting Grand Rapids Business Journal’s Web site, judges wrote, “Breaking local and national business news, strong design, plentiful local content and an extensive, well-chosen collection of links make the Grand Rapids Business Journal Express a formidable resource for those doing business in the Grand Rapids area.” The judges also cited good use of photographs and information graphics.
The annual Editorial Excellence Awards competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography and design achieved by business publications. Crain’s Chicago Business attained the Gold Award for Best Web Site.
The AABP Executive Director James Dowden said judges used stringent criteria for the categories in writing, design, art and editorial awards. Headquartered in Los Angeles, the AABP is a nonprofit organization representing more than 80 independent magazines and newspaper members in the United States and Canada.
