GRAND RAPIDS — Another new business opens its doors downtown this week, as Tiki Bob’s Cantina begins serving on Friday at 58 Ionia Ave. SW.

The Hawaiian-themed restaurant will also feature music and dancing, and has space for private parties and fund-raising events.

Tiki Bob’s is just down the street from Bar Divani, a wine bar and restaurant that opened in late December at 15 Ionia Ave. SW. The Lewis Benton Steakhouse began feeding patrons a month ago on the ground floor of the former Michigan National Bank Building at the corner of Monroe Center and Ionia.

Those three restaurants were preceded by a pair of furniture stores that recently opened downtown. Shabby Chic made its debut in November with refurbished antiques, furniture, accessories and custom-made jewelry at 222 S. Division Ave. EQ3 premiered its exclusive line of new contemporary loft furniture in December at 130 Ionia Ave. SW.
