GRAND RAPIDS — The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center will sponsor the Technology Happy Hour tonight and welcome a firm from the Netherlands to enlighten the group on investing.

In tonight’s session, at the Grand Valley State University, University Club located on the Pew Campus, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about venture capital investing in social initiatives.

Paul Timmers, the local representative for the Noaber Fund will discuss the company’s two initiatives and how the company not only invests in technologies, but also in societal issues.

The Noaber Fund has two initiatives, first to invest in new technologies that will have a positive impact and the second is to also apply those technologies to populations that have an extreme need for assistance.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to network before Timmers takes the stage at 5 p.m. Upon the conclusion of the informational session at 5:45 p.m., those in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy the happy hour of socializing.

The Tech Happy Hour is an opportunity for technology driven individuals and companies to have the chance to come together to meet, discuss and network in a comfortable setting, while also gaining insight on a different subject each month.
