Land Use Seminar Set

ALLENDALE — Two nationally known experts on land use policy and planning will speak to West Michigan government, business and nonprofit leaders on Sept. 10.

The event will take place from 3-5 p.m. at the Cook-DeWitt Center on the Allendale campus of Grand Valley State University.

Bruce Katz and Myron Orfield will offer insights on regional coordination of land use policy. Katz is founding director of the Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy and also vice president of the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C. Orfield is the author of numerous books about metropolitan planning, most recently “Michigan Metropatterns: A Regional Agenda for Community and Prosperity in Michigan.”

Katz and Orfield’s presentation is hosted by the West Michigan Strategic Alliance, which aims to create regional collaboration among the businesses, institutions and governmental units of the greater Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland area.
