GRAND RAPIDS — The Home and Building Association of Greater Grand Rapids’ 12th annual Community Repair Day gets underway tomorrow beginning at 7:30 a.m. when volunteer members donate their time, labor and materials to help others.

Volunteers from the HBAGGR, both skilled and unskilled, will donate time, labor and materials to help low-income and elderly homeowners in the community who have neither the financial nor physical ability to maintain their homes.

All volunteers will meet at Home Repair Services, located at 1100 South Division Ave., for a kickoff breakfast. The volunteers will then begin making their way to the various job sites in the community for repairs selected by HRS.

Judy Barnes, executive vice president and CEO of HBAGGR, noted that the members of the association feel that Community Repair Day ranks at the top of their list for a great opportunity in helping provide safe, decent, affordable housing to those neighbors who are less fortunate.
