Entela Becomes Part Of Intertek
The announcement from the company’s headquarters here indicated that Kim Phillipi will continue on as president of Entela and will continue to manage the business. Moreover, Entela will retain it its name.
Phillipi said the company — a leading automotive testing and engineering firm and management systems registrar — will provide Intertek a global platform to expand such service worldwide. He said Entela also will buttress Intertek’s electrical product safety work.
Entela has provided full product, systems, material/component testing and failure analysis., global conformity assessment to internation North American and European standards, and ISO 9000, QS 9000, TE Supplement, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14000 auditing and certification, and engineering services and accelerated stess testing.
Prior to the acquisition, Intertek had more than 270 laboratories and more than 11,000 employees around the world. Beyond Grand Rapids, Entella’s facilities are located in Detroit, Boston, Toronto, and Taipei, Taiwan.
Intertek is an international testing, inspection and certification organization which measures its clients’ products, commodities and systems against a wide range of safety, regulatory, quality and performance standards.
Entela will report to Intertek’s ETL Semko Division.
