Belmont-based True North Companies has built or leased several projects in West Michigan over the past few months.

True North Construction in conjunction with True North Architecture has completed a new headquarters for Cole’s Quality Foods at 25 Ottawa Ave. SW in downtown Grand Rapids. The approximately 15,000-square-foot office space, which consists of the entire fourth floor of the Arena Station Building, will finalize the consolidation of Cole’s Muskegon and Grand Rapids offices.

Tony Pearson, president of True North Real Estate, also announced that the firm has leased space to JA Financial in the Belmont Farms development, located at the intersection of Belmont Center and Jupiter in Belmont. Pearson said he has secured a five-year lease for the 2,300-square-foot space in the development, which has sustained an occupancy rate of more than 80 percent in its first three years.

Pearson also teamed with Mary Mishler of Keller Williams to secure the sale of the landmark 12,000-square-foot retail/residential building at 7 E. Muskegon St. in Kent City. For more than 100 years the building has been a prominent fixture in Kent City. The property is currently home to a hardware store and three residential living spaces that are fully occupied. Renovations and improvements have been planned, Pearson said.

True North also secured the lease, architecture and construction for an addition to the Milestones Child Development Center in Cascade Township. This is the second such addition to the center in the last year.

When completed, the center will occupy the entire main level of 5070 Cascade Road. The approximately 2,400-square-foot addition will allow the center to expand its services to include both infants and toddlers, which it was unable to accommodate previously.

This addition is scheduled for completion in March, just two months before Milestones Child Development Center in Belmont is slated for opening.     CQX
