GRAND RAPIDS — Local sustainable business pioneer Cascade Engineering has launched a consulting practice aimed at fostering sustainability in other companies.

The new unit, Quest Sustainable Solutions, will help organizations achieve sustainable business practices through innovation and performance improvement. Kysha Frazier, formerly Cascade Engineering manager of social investment, will lead the new unit.

The firm’s first entry into the service sector, Quest will draw on the company’s deep expertise in sustainability to help clients build ecological, social and financial capital, and reduce waste. A primary focus will be customized training programs and assessment criteria that help employees successfully confront changes that typically accompany new developmental initiatives.

“We’ve learned the importance of setting clear goals around improving all three capitals — ecological, social and financial — and that the only way to get there is through innovation,” said Fred Keller, Cascade Engineering chairman, president and CEO.

“This will focus on both fronts, helping to define the objectives and implement new processes or programs that deliver real, measurable results.”
