Nucraft Expansion Breaks Ground
COMSTOCK PARK — Nucraft Furniture Co. broke ground this morning on a $1.5 million expansion at its headquarters and primary manufacturing facility at 5151 West River Drive.
The 20,000-square-foot project, to be added to the front, northeast corner, of the building, will improve the corporate offices and create a new entrance.
“We are excited to be able to create an enhanced work environment for our dedicated associates,” said Tim Schad, chairman of the board, CEO, and owner of the company, in a prepared statement. “It is due primarily to their strong work ethic that our company is experiencing significant growth. The expansion will not only make Nucraft a more desirable place to work, but make space available for an increased workforce in the coming years.”

The project also includes an updated cafeteria, and additional windows and conference spaces.
The building designer and architect is Via Design. The builder is Rockford Construction Co. The project will seek Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
