56 Monroe To Be Brickway Residences
GRAND RAPIDS — Virgin Soil Development is taking over the development of the long-vacant upper floors of 56 Monroe Center as The Brickway Residences. The second and third floors of the building that currently houses XO Asian Cuisine will be converted into eight residential condominiums.
Standard units in the $2 million project will average 800 square feet with one bedroom and bathroom. Options for two-bedroom and/or two-bathroom plans are also available. Virgin Soil is promoting the units as a slightly more affordable option to the adjacent condominium developments on Monroe Center. Homes at The Brickway will start at around $140,000 and include a private entrance, elevator and rooftop deck.
As sales of the units begin today, two of the eight units are already reserved.
Virgin Soil and its brokerage entity, Urban Space of Grand Rapids, are also developing the former Central Bank building across the street at 65 Monroe Center. The firm’s principal, Brice Bossardet, was until recently a broker with commercial real estate firm The Wisinski Group.
