Goodwill Opens New Retail Outlet
GRAND RAPIDS — Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids held a grand opening of the relocated Goodwill Store at 54th Street and Division Avenue on Dec. 1. This marks the fifth Goodwill store in the greater Grand Rapids area featuring the new store model.
“Because of the tremendous support from the community, we were able to build a larger, more convenient location right across the street,” Goodwill COO Dave Brinza said. “This only helps support our mission of providing job training and placement services to our community.”
The new location features:
- Drive-thru donation center. This allows customers to drop off gently used clothing, housewares, and other items without leaving their vehicle. The drive-thru will feature a bell system to alert Goodwill employees to unload merchandise from the vehicles.
- In-store processing center. Donated merchandise can be sorted and priced for resale onsite, eliminating the expense of transporting goods to the organization’s main processing center in Grandville.
- Modern and updated décor, including skylights, bright colors and varied floor treatments.
“Every purchase at Goodwill directly translates into an opportunity to change lives and communities through the power of work,” said Goodwill President Kathy Crosby.
