GRAND RAPIDS—The Downtown Development Authority recently agreed to help fund the $2.8 million Lyon Street reconstruction project. The board allocated $608,000 for landscaping, street lighting and the installation of telecom and electrical ducts.

The work will rebuild Lyon Street from Division to Lafayette avenues, blocks that are in an expended area of the DDA, and should be completed in August. The DDA funds will come from the board’s 2009 budget.
