Saint Mary's To Aid Metro Cancer Library
WYOMING — Saint Mary’s Health Care will provide expertise to set up a patient information center at Metro Health’s new cancer center, the two hospitals announced Tuesday.
The Warren Reynolds Library partnership between the Cancer Center at Metro Health Village and Saint Mary’s Lacks Cancer Center is a small step in a growing relationship between the two hospitals, officials said.
The announcement came during a ceremonial signing of a contract between Metro Health and the University of Michigan Health System to provide radiation services at the new center, beginning later this year. On hand for the signing was Metro Health President & CEO Michael Faas, Dr. Michael Zakem, of Metro Health and Cancer & Hematology Centers of Western Michigan and Dr. Theodore Lawrence, who heads the U-M Medical School’s Department of Radiation Oncology.
Metro Health is becoming the eighth member of the University of Michigan’s Radiation Oncology Network, which provides medical supervision and expertise for radiation programs across the state.
