GRAND RAPIDS — Van Andel Institute won a Bronze 2008 Telly Award in the “Best Corporate Image TV” category for its television commercial featuring Senior Scientific Investigator Nicholas S. Duesbery, Ph.D.

The 29th Annual Telly Awards received 13,500 entries this year from all 50 states, as well as numerous foreign countries. The awards honor the best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions and work created for the Web.

Grand Rapids-based Lawrence Productions produced the commercial.

“The 40 nationally recognized judges who evaluated the entries apparently agreed that our mission, Nick’s words and the production quality of the commercial achieved our goal and qualified us for this national award,” said Joseph P. Gavan, vice president of communications and development for the VAI.
