GRAND RAPIDS — For the fourth consecutive year, Blesco will host a Robotics & Automation Show at its headquarters at 4890 Kendrick St. SE. This year’s show, slated for Sept. 9 and 10, will highlight picking technologies rather than a variety of technologies used in material handling and warehousing operations.

Blesco Inc. is an engineering and automation firm specializing in material handling systems design and integration, software development, design and manufacture of special equipment and robotic systems.

“While the show has been a success, with over 300 attendees last year, we are looking to shift our focus this year,” noted Marketing Assistant Carrie Cornelisse. “Our goal this year is to provide an environment where manufacturing and distribution individuals from across the country have intimate interaction with companies that partner together to provide a single solution to automation challenges.”

This year, Blesco is inviting about 10 partners to display their latest technologies, and only one partner per sector is being invited. The invitation list includes Viastore Crane Systems, Elzinga-Volkers Construction Co., Accusort, Fanuc Robotics and Lightning Pick Technologies. Cornelisse said all the companies will offer picking technologies, from manual to fully automated, and showcasing a variety of “best practices” picking options.

Blesco’s business is to offer solutions. The company evaluates a customer’s operation and works with them to understand their business objectives and come up with the best way to solve their operational challenges, Cornelisse explained.

Cornelisse said Blesco plans to display its new belt curve, a test loop and descrambler it developed for two parcel companies. The company will also showcase its customer software capabilities.
